The John Ross Robertson Competition (West) was held in Regina, SK on June 15th and 16th, hosted by the Saskatchewan Cricket Association. PakCan CC from BC was unable to make it to Regina; the runner's up from Saskatchewan - Lions CC was entered as the 4th team. Other teams consisted of Warriors CC (SK), Crown CC (AB) and Winnipeg Juniors CC (MB)
In the opening game, Warriors from Saskatoon took on the Winnipeg Juniors CC in a rain curtailed game. Warriors led by Jiv Braich's 53 put on a competitive 230 in the allotted 35 overs. Winnipeg Juniors chasing a revised total of 194 in 29 overs fell short by 32 runs as their skipper Joe Lovelace led the charge with a belligerent 46 in 22 balls. In the second game, Crown from Calgary comfortably chased a target of 143 set by Lions. Asif Prasala from Lions put in a strong all round performance with 45 runs and 3 vital wickets. Khurram Abbas top scored for Crown with a sensible 46 to drive the chase as Crown won by 5 wickets.
The 3rd and 4th place game was reduced to a T20 affair due to persistent rain. With frequent stoppages Winnipeg innings never got going as 13 year old off spinner Rumail Khan grabbed 3 middle order wickets to restrict WJCC to 114. James Sanki blasted Lions to the total with an unbeaten 78 with 5 overs to spare.
The Final had a delayed start amidst clouds and more rain. After frequent stop and consistent showers, the game was called off after only 13 overs were bowled. Warriors CC & Crown CC were declared joint winners of the JRR Competition 2013(West).
Yawar Abbas (Crown) won the Best Bowling Performance Trophy for his 3/18 in 5 overs against Lions. James Sanki (Lions) won Best Innings Trophy for his unbeaten 78 (48). Asif Prasala won the MVP Award for his 46 and 3/25 against Crown.
